I was thinking that maybe there could be unique weapons under each category that work differently from most of the common weapons. They have special traits e.t.c. Like how a knife can slash faster than a sword.
(Also, don't know if some of the thoughts would be too complicated to code in, but oh wells, figured i lay them out)
(Also, rushed idea's haven't really given much thought to whether they'd play out imbalanced or not, but they have there downsides to try even stuff out)
MARKSMANSHIP WEAPONS
Sniper rifles - Shoot for a much longer range than a normal gun, does fairly better damage, lets say 100+ more damage or so. But takes twice as long to shoot another round, than a normal gun
Advantages:-
-More than likely to start the fight with first hit, assuming you're shooting from right at the edge of screen.
-More power than a normal gun (or a musket e.t.c.)
-People with larger screens benefit more from this weapon. ;D
Disadvantages:-
-The shots take twice as long to fire, so you might find yourself switching back to musket (e.t.c.) once the person comes running at you
Bazooka/Grenade Launcher - It's length of range is further than a Musket, but shorter than a sniper rifle, it shares the same cooldown as a sniper rifle.
Once the Grenade has reached it's end of length, it'll explode where it stops. (Doesn't matter whether it hit someone or not) This will cause an explosion of 3x3 area, anyone in that will be caused damage
It's damage is 150+ or 200+ higher than a sniper rifle.
Advantages
-More than likely to start the fight with first hit, assuming you're shooting from right at the edge of screen.
-More power than a gun, and sniper rifle
-You gain the added bonus of causing and AoE explosion, may hit multiple targets (Steal the explosion icon from bomb bomb i guess *shrugs*)
Disadvantages
-Has more range than a musket, but shorter range than a Sniper Rifle
-The shots take twice as long to fire, so you might find yourself switching back to musket (e.t.c.) once the person comes running at you
SWORDSMANSHIP
KokutoYoru (A.K.A Mihawk's Sword) (Could do with a new icon)- All sword skills gain a wider range when being launched. (Basically hyper cut and Sword blast will fire a range of 2 squares wide instead of the usual 1 square tile)
Icon idea: Maybe change the skills Icon color from blue to green, to show the uniqueness of the difference from a normal hyper cut/sword blast, and a swordblast/hyper cut being used whilst equipped with KokutoYoru
Advantages:-
- Wider range of attack on the two sword skills Hyper Cut & Sword blast
Disadvantages:-
- You can only wield one of these at a time, and you can't wear any other sword with it at the same time. So basically it's a sword that requires two hands to use just one of these bad boys
SWORDSMANSHIP - PART 2 | SKILLS
Dragon Twister/Cyclone/Twiser - You do an attack that hits all directions from you, almost a replicate attack of the Footwork's skill known as Spin Kick
Icon idea of what it should look like - A white/light blue line that circles around the user as he/she uses the attack
Advantages:-
- You gain an attack that allows you to hit all sides of you, AoE's like this always seem to be the game plan for winning a fight
Disadvantages:-
- Requires you to have both hands wielding a seperate katana, or in other words you need 2 swords to use this technique. So KokutoYoru wouldn't be able to perform this technique
